About Us

Local Mobile business owners, Eric Ludgate of EnSec Pest and Lawn, Jimmy Dietz of Air of Excellence and Dr. Christopher Mullenix of Mobile Oral Surgery are leaders in their communities, committed to serving those in need. When they learned how Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries (ABCH) is serving children and families from hard places, and has been for 126 years, their personal faith drove them to seek an opportunity to join their efforts to help those in need. Eric and Jimmy are excited to announce the very first Trees for Hope Gala, benefitting ABCH, will be held on Tuesday, November 28 at Dauphin Way Baptist Church and is being presented by Dr. Christopher Mullenix.

In helping to encourage community involvement by providing this unique opportunity to help others in need, Dr. Mullenix shares, “During the holidays, our existing support agencies and network of charities have a difficult time meeting the needs of Alabama’s less fortunate children and families. By sponsoring the Trees for Hope dinner and auction, I can be a part of a unique and rewarding way for Alabamians to give to those less fortunate.” Trees for Hope will be a fun and enjoyable evening of heavy hors d’oeuvres, fine coffees and desserts, and will provide attendees the opportunity to browse dozens of beautifully decorated trees and wreaths ranging from the elegant to the whimsical, all of which will be up for grabs to the highest bidder. Some trees expected to be available for auction include a nautical theme, Alabama and Auburn football themes, and more. Along with the Trees for Hope silent auction, attendees are invited to partake in a live auction too, where you can bid on anything from weekend getaways, a golf outing at the number one ranked course in Alabama, and unique dining and culinary experiences, to fun activities for the whole family and valuable household services.

Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries has championed the statewide cause of needy, neglected, and dependent children since the late 1800s. Tens of thousands of children and their families have received food, shelter, love, comfort and spiritual guidance under the Christian direction of dedicated men and women for 126 years, with the core commitment being to love children and youth and to point them always in the direction of Jesus Christ.

Proceeds from the gala will help ABCH as they continue their every day mission to protect, nurture, and restore children and families through Christ-centered services.
